LSEP & NYC Board of Ed

Life Skills Empowerment Programs (LESPs) are currently being offered in partnership with the New York City Board of Education. They eight sessions developed specifically for for parents of children in public schools who are residing in transitional housing.

The Programs assist individuals in developing essential life skills and aid in the process of recovery from the trauma of homelessness through sharing of life stories. Sessions include budgeting, goal-setting, parenting, healthy relationships and telling your story. So far in 2009, this program has been offered to the following transitional housing facilities: Sojourner Truth, Help Bronx Morris, University Family Center, Sammon Build Center and Williamsbridge Family Inn.
